Psi Chapter ST. JUDE |
Phi Delta Chi is committed to raising funds and awareness for worthy causes. One of the most notable causes the fraternity is involved with is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
St. Jude and Phi Delta Chi - A Brief History
In August 1995 at the 60th
Grand Council in Memphis, Phi Delta Chi Fraternity adopted St. Jude Children’s
Research Hospital as its national philanthropic partner. Phi Delta Chi
Collegiate Chapters and Alumni from across the country have raised money and
awareness for this hospital in many unique ways.
In August 2007 at the 66th Grand Council
in West Palm Beach, Phi Delta Chi's Executive Council further enhanced our
philanthropic focus with St. Jude. At this meeting, the Fraternity agreed
to a four-year, $200,000 commitment. Chapters will be participating in a
letter-writing campaign to friends and family called The
Prescription for Hope. Upon completion, one of the
hospital’s Patient Pharmacies will be named in honor of Phi Delta Chi. Pharmacy
staff members at St. Jude do much more than just prepare the children’s
medicines. They are actively involved in the day-to-day care of St. Jude
patients.
Phi Delta Chi’s commitment to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be recognized by a plaque outside of the chosen pharmacy.
This contribution is only made possible by the commitment of more than 55 collegiate chapters and from the support of Phi Delta Chi's National Office.
